Only 1,383 CSLs were built, making it one of the rarest modern BMWs in the collector market. UK supply has contracted to three cars, the tightest it has been since 2021.
The mileage curve is pronounced — sub-30k examples command a 24% premium and are increasingly rarely offered publicly. Sebring Grey with BMW history is the definitive specification. The risk to the thesis is the broader modern classic cooling trend, but the CSL's combination of rarity, driving reputation and BMW M heritage insulates it better than most in this segment.
